Please tell me more about your shipping charges?

Happy Chickadee completely understands that busy moms want the convenience of online shopping, but don’t want to pay an arm and a leg for shipping! Here’s what we can do for you (‘you’ being American residents with shipping addresses within the contiguous 48):
$5.00 dollar flat rate shipping Via USPS Priority Mail (approx 4-9 days)
FREE Shipping over $75.00 For all residents with shipping addresses within the contiguous 48.
Free Local Pickup is for the Palm Desert/La Quinta areas. Please email us after your order and we can arrange a mutually convenient time and location for pickup.
Shipping to Canada, Alaska and Hawaii is $15.00. Please see International Orders for more information.

You will receive an order and shipping confirmation from orders@happychickadee.com. If you haven’t seen one please check your Spam or Junk mail folders. Still nothing? Just contact us and we’ll get you all the information you need.
Want check the status of your order? Just log in to your account on Happy Chickadee and click on “My Orders.” You’ll find lots of useful information here.
Shipping usually occurs 24-48 hours after your order is placed and will arrive via your chosen shipping method.
Are you in a total time crunch and have a birthday party tomorrow or the next day!? Shoot us a quick email or call us and we’ll get you a quote for Next Day Air or Saturday Delivery. We will only charge you actual shipping charges, with no handling fees at all.
Q: International Shipping
I live in Canada or outside of the contiguous 48, or outside of North America; what are your International order policies?

International Orders (includes Alaska & Hawaii):
Any applicable duty and taxes will be the buyer’s responsibility. Please note that this method of shipping will not be covered by insurance or tracking, and Happy Chickadee is not responsible for items once we have shipped them.
If you live in Alaska, Hawaii, Guam, Puerto Rico, American Samoa or the US Virgin Islands, please contact us before you purchase for a shipping quote. We would be happy to ship to you but need some lead time to get you a quote!
And…we want to make the rest of the world happy too! If you are itching to buy some of our goods but don’t live in Canada or the US, just shoot us an email before you check out. We would love to get our amazing products in your international hands, but we will need some time to prepare some shipping quotes for you. Again, We will only charge you actual shipping costs, no handling fees.
If you need your package in a hurry just shoot us a quick email or call and we’ll get you a quote for Next Day Air or Saturday Delivery. We will only charge you actual shipping charges, with no handling fees at all. We promise to try to accommodate your needs.

Do you offer gift wrapping?

Happy Chickadee gift wrapping is (almost!) as special as the gift itself! We have two gorgeous and distinct wrapping options for you to select from, to match your friends and their kids’ personalities!
For only $5.00 per package you can choose from the following exquisite presentations, sure to make any kid (and her Mama!) happy. A beautiful handmade and handwritten gift card with a message of your choice will be included with all gift wrapping services. Please keep your messages to 3 sentences maximum.

Go Peony wrapping includes a sweet pink window box, filled with your goodies wrapped in pink tissue. Two pink satin ribbons adorn the box with a gorgeous huge peony flower topping it all off. Pink Perfection!!
Go Poppy wrapping is your fresh and hip gift wrapping choice. It includes a white box with white tissue, this gorgeous exotic poppies gift wrap paper and an extra wide black satin ribbon belt with a gorgeous translucent layered paper flower topping it all off. Totally hip!
Packages not chosen for gift wrap service will be wrapped in white tissue paper and tied with a satin ribbon.

Do you charge sales tax?

A sales tax of 8.75% will be charged to all orders shipped within California.
Q: Exchanges and Returns
Can I return or exchange my purchases?
A:
We do not accept returns or exchanges on any sale items. Our standard exchange/return policy shown below can be applied only to regularly priced merchandise only. Thanks for your understanding!
Happy Chickadee wants happy customers. If you are not overjoyed with your purchase, shoot us a quick email at exchanges@happychickadee.com so that we can send you a return/exchange code. When you mail us your items, you will need to write this code number on the outside of the box. Unfortunately, we cannot accept packages that do not include a return/exchange code.
Returns must be mailed to us within 14 business days, with the exception of all MamaOm products. The MamaOm items must be returned within 5 days, as they are a drop ship product and must then be returned to MamaOm by Happy Chickadee very promptly. You can choose to receive store credit or a credit to your original method of payment (excluding shipping charges). Please specify which you would prefer in your email.
We accept returns or exchanges on all items except custom made clothing and accessories, swimwear, sale priced items, and holiday specific items. Items must be returned to Happy Chickadee in new condition, original packaging, and with all tags attached. Please include a proof of purchase in order for us to process your return or exchange.

When shipping your return or exchange to us, please consider using a reliable source that includes a tracking and/or insurance service. We cannot process a return or exchange that we did not receive.
If you need to exchange an item for another size, please email us first to see if that size is available. If it is, we will ship it to you after we receive your returned item. If it is not available, we will let you know by email and you can choose to receive store credit or a refund. All refunds will be processed within 30 business days.
Your store credit is valid for 3 months, good for any and all items in the store, and will be sent out to you with free shipping! When we send you a confirmation of your store credit we will also include a one time free shipping code for you to use. If the item you are returning or exchanging is because of a Happy Chickadee error, then email us and we will credit or pay for your return shipping.

Who are the Happy Chickadees?

The two Happy Chickadees are Amber Spinello and Shari Brownfield, whose little girls are only 11 days apart. Amber is proud Mum Mum to Mia (aka The Bean); a chill, loving and happy two year old. Shari is beaming Mummy to Finley; a sweet, spunky, yet shy two year old.
Since becoming mothers, both Amber and Shari discovered their love for the general ease of online shopping, but had a difficult time finding unique quality clothing and accessories for their little girls in one central spot that was well priced, easy to navigate and fun to shop at. While boys clothes are cute too, they wanted to find a spot that specialized in just girls clothes! So they went about trying to find the best, most hip and fresh girls’ boutique out there. But it wasn’t to be found. Each mom had visions of their ideal online boutique and when combined, Happy Chickadee came to be!
Both Amber and Shari’s visions encompassed one main purpose; fairly priced, high quality clothing, accessories and gifts that allow your child to show off her individuality. The moms also wanted Happy Chickadee to please the modern busy mother with competitive shipping prices, fast turnaround, amazing customer service, impeccable gift wrapping, and lots of hard to find fun items that would thrill any little girl.
And finally, Happy Chickadee wouldn’t be representative of the mom’s lives without an element of giving back. Happy Chickadee is more than just an online boutique, it’s a concept. When planning our boutique we knew that it wasn’t enough for us to just sell adorable clothes. We knew Happy Chickadee needed to reflect the sense of giving back that we have already begun teaching our young children. We also wanted to give our customers an opportunity to help us give back, and a chance to be inspired by some of the great organizations we’ve partnered with.
With every purchase over $10.00 at our boutique we will donate part of our proceeds to one of three nationally recognized charities. Every dollar that you spend at Happy Chickadee helps to give back to other families with various needs. Here’s how it works:
When you spend $10.00-30.00, then $1.00 will go to charity.
When you spend $31.00-75.00, then $2.00 will go to charity.
When you spend $76.00-125.00, then $3.00 will go to charity.
Any purchase over $125.00 will help us donate $5.00 to a non profit organization.
You Shop, You Pick, We Give! Everyone’s Happy!
Here’s the fun part; you get to choose the organization to donate our profits to from a list of three nationally recognized charities. If no charity is selected at the time of your purchase, then one will be selected for you.

By providing nourishing food and supplements to the children who need it most: the poor and hungry, we can help these children thrive in school and life.
Nourish America is committed to provide the daily essential nutrition that impoverished American children, families, pregnant moms, and seniors in need require to live productive, successful lives. A donation of less than ten cents provides nutrition support for a day for a child, parent, senior or veteran. Just $1 provides nutrition to 20 people in need. Your donations through Happy Chickadee will help kids and their families lead a more vital, happier and productive life. .

First Book
First Book is a nonprofit organization with a single mission: to give children from low-income families the opportunity to read and own their first new books. They provide an ongoing supply of new books to children participating in community-based mentoring, tutoring, and family literacy programs. First Book has provided more than 50 million new books to children in need in hundreds of communities nationwide.
The primary goal of First Book is to work with existing literacy programs to distribute new books to children who, for economic reasons, have little or no access to books. Every $2.50 donated can buy a new book for a child in need. Thank you for your helping hand in giving a child in need his or her own first book.

Q: Sizing
Please help me figure out sizes!
A:
Navigating the world of infant and toddler sizes is no small task…especially when the kids grow so fast! Please read our product descriptions carefully. We try our best to mention if some lines run large, small, or true to size.
When ordering a custom Happy Chickadee Tee or Onesie, we suggest ordering one size up. We use American Apparel for our custom clothes and the toddler shirts especially seem to run a little small. If you insist on using your dryer on these items, we definitely recommend ordering one size up!
Twirly Girl dresses run pretty big. They are supposed to be flowy after all! An XS is perfect for larger 2 year olds and 3 year olds. A size Small is perfect for a 4T or 5T.
Mia Joie’s gorgeous booties come in sizes 0, 1, 2 or 3.
Size 0 is for newborns and measure 3.25”
Size 1 is appropriate for 0-3 months and measures 3.5”
Size 2 is for 3-6 months and measures 4”
Size 3 is for 6-12 months and measures 4.25”
Baby Sara runs fairly true to size, but we usually order one size up (but as a busy mothers we do rely on the dryer lots!).
Q: Custom Gift Sets
I would love to build a custom gift set, can you help me?

Of course! We love putting together custom gifts! We can help with suggestions as to what should be paired with what, and can also help you think of creative packaging and ideas specific to the child in mind. We can put together packages based on color schemes, organic goods, birthday themes, favorite animals, the list goes on! The sky is the limit! All you have to do is ask. Q: Coupon Codes
Can Coupons be used for International orders?

Free Shipping coupons can only be applied only to orders shipping within the US. International orders are welcome to use any coupon code but free shipping can not be applied. For example, on a code that gives 10% off plus free shipping, an international order can
receive the 10% off but free shipping cannot be applied.
International orders will be billed for actual shipping costs, no handling fees.
